how to get started on blogger + backdate your forum entries as posts

if you have a google account you can simply log in as shown:

 

 

next, create your blog.

now, you can choose a premade theme, or use a custom one (btemplates has some nice ones, you can also find some more "tumblr" style themes on deviantart)

you can customize premade themes with google fonts and background images as well.

in order to use a custom theme you need the xml file, so extract whatever zip or rar you may have downloaded. on mac, you can use the b1 online unarchiver for rar files if you don't want to download an unarchiver app.

i just went in and modified the layout a bit.

next, you can create pages. maybe an about the family page, a name list, and an archive, if you want a separate page instead of a dropdown menu like the gadget provided by blogger.

just click on the pencil icon in the top left corner and select html view. paste the code there.

you will have to manually add your pages to the menu.

next, you need a profile.

scroll all the way to the bottom.

i just put my im username as my nb username. you can choose any of the services, it doesn't matter anyway.

now if you want to backdate a forum post, just copy the text from the post, and paste it. you may need to remove formatting by highlighting your post, clicking the three dots button, and choosing the T icon. you can then reformat. choose the date you originally posted it on the date picker.

and then post!
